I did that second series of "fetishes" this summer while in
Taos. If I had to describe why I create these images I probably
could not create them because for me, art is a metaphoric language.
The fetishes are made from heavy handmade paper, hand sewn, and
painted with natural pigments and oils. I took small elements
like textures, colours, objects and ideas to attempt a larger
statement. Through my work I am interested in affective or
intellectual content closer to essence than narration.
